Dear Damascus Community Church family,
“Thank you” seems hardly enough to express our gratitude and love towards you for the support and thoughtfulness that you have shown us
over these past six months of Eli’s cancer treatment. Prayers, meals, sitting with Eli so Sue could attend some home basketball games, phone calls, notes of encouragement, and financial support were just some of the ways that
you surrounded us with love and concern. We love and appreciate you all!
(James 1:2-4)
Still Firmly in His Grip, The Rankins

WOMEN’S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY Believing God (by Beth Moore) is the topic of a new Bible study meeting in the Friendship Center on Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 PM starting this week, June 3. Cost: $18.00.

BAPTISM... When Jesus commissioned His disciples to carry on the work He began, He called them to make more disciples who would follow Him. They were to be identified in a particular way - through baptism. The practice of baptism has been a rite by which followers publicly declare their decision to follow Jesus, and unite with others in the community of believers, since the first preaching of the gospel. If you would like to learn more about baptism, or are interested in being baptized, please contact Pastor Steve (Steve Hardy ~ at ~ damascuscc ~ dot ~ org).

Freedom Celebration 2009 - 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM

On July 4 we celebrate the birthday of the United States of
America, “sweet land of liberty”. Today we come to recognize
those who serve among us to maintain this free and safe
nation, to give thanks to God who indeed has “shed His grace”
on us, and to have a good time together as community
members. We trust that you will enjoy the events of the day,
and will be reminded that our heritage as a free nation comes
to us as a gift from God, and through the service and sacrifice
of many who are committed to the common good of all its
citizens. Thank you for joining us!
