Sunday School
Sunday School classes are offered for ages 3 years - 6th grade. We use Explore the Bible for our Sunday School curriculum which is written to allow children to read and study God’s Word book by book in a way that is fun, age-appropriate, and sustainable for a lifetime. Through these lessons, our children will grow together in God’s Word one book at a time and learn how to know, love, and invest in God’s truth. Our goal is that children will grow in biblical literacy and their personal understanding of Christ.
Take a look at the “Bible Skills for Kids” pamphlet. This will give you a general idea of how children learn and use Bible skills as well as some of the memory verses and Bible stories they will be studying. Take a look at pages 12-13 to see what Bible skills you can help your child work on at home.
You can check out the At Home family resources for each week on Ministry Grid at https://ministrygrid.lifeway.com/. Use the same login if you created an account previously or create a new login (it’s free). Then click on the appropriate session. This resource is a great way to engage your family through Bible study, videos, and fun family activities. You can even watch the silly videos of Joel that your elementary child gets to see each week.
This spring, children will dig deep into the genres of gospels, poetry and wisdom, and letters. The book of Mark highlights the end of Jesus' earthly ministry and the ultimate sacrifice He made to rescue people from sin. The book of Psalms illuminates the truth and eternity of God's Word. Finally, in his letter to churches, James encourages believers to live in ways that please God.
Sunday School teachers wear maroon lanyards with a large name badge.
