Last Sunday (Jan. 22) marked the 50th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that paved the way for the horrific abortion of over 63 million babies in the United States.   We can be thankful to God for the overturning of Roe in last summer's Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, but we must not believe that the battle for the sanctity of human life is now over.  The result of the Dobbs decision was to move the legal battle from the federal government to the individual states, and therefore we ought to be praying that God will move the hearts of legislators around our country to create laws that protect life, rather than destroy it.

At the same time, we ought to be supporting and encouraging the work of local ministries who have been fighting all along for the sanctity of human life by walking compassionately with those facing unwanted pregnancies.  First Image is one of those ministries and is in need of both volunteers and financial support.  DCC currently supports First Image each month through our outreach budget.  To learn how you can get involved directly, visit https://first-image.org/.
