I am Mike Contreras, a missionary trainer with Base Ministry (St. Charles, Illinois), and am writing to help raise awareness for a critical need on behalf of Julio Serrano, Base Peru National Director.
As you may be aware, Peru is in political turmoil on a national level. Julio and his wife, Rosario, have been pinned down by rolling lockdowns in their home in Lima or been under heavy pressure from the violent drug cartels in the central jungle where they train leaders on behalf of our ministry. At this time, it has been very difficult to get the needed resources for the people he serves and travel in and out of the jungle is becoming increasingly dangerous. We are hoping to fly Julio out of Peru to bring him to Merida, Mexico for our bi-annual international council in May of this year. We are attempting to raise $2,500 dollars to meet this need and grant them a gift for needed resources as they return to Lima.
