Welcome to the month of February – the shortest month of the year – where we will be wrapping up high school basketball while launching elementary basketball games, track and field, and boys’ varsity volleyball! Check out this week’s edition of the Eagle Eye and plan to catch a boys’ basketball game or two before the season comes to an end. Senior Night will be this Tuesday!
With the possibility of inclement weather in the next few days, we’d like to remind everyone that DCS uses FlashAlert to notify parents when there is an unplanned school closure or emergency situation. If you have not done so already, you will want to set up a free FlashAlert Messenger Subscription to receive notification of closures or delays. Go to Welcome to FlashAlert Newswire - Messenger.
For those that have downloaded the FlashAlert App in the past, it appears some recent changes are not supported in the app and are negatively impacting its usability. We recommend you access and sign in to FlashAlert through a web browser and discontinue use of the app at this time.
Parking Lot Safety Concerns – When picking up your student at the end of the school day, we ask that you wait in your car in the pickup line until your student(s) is delivered to your car. If you are parking and walking up to the gym doors to pick up your student, we ask that you use the crosswalk zones when moving to and from. Drivers, we ask that you use extreme caution when driving through the parking lot being mindful of those walking.
If you would like to connect with other parents at pickup time, please do so in the lower portion of the parking lot by the playground after you have retrieved your child(ren). Parents should not congregate on the sidewalk surrounding the gym during afternoon pickup, as this poses serious safety concerns.
We have Two Immediate Volunteer Needs we’d like you to consider. Please contact Heidi Hale if you are able to help in either of the following ways.
We need a large trailer to be able to haul our soccer goals from Estacada High School back to DCS.
We are in need of additional volunteers to help share the load with hot lunch distribution Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This program does not work without it!
Spirit Week is just around the corner (Feb 10-14), which means it’s time to start planning for dress-up days! The schedule of dress-up days is as follows:

Wednesday, Feb 12th – Tropical Day
Thursday, Feb 13th – Throwback Thursday – Choose a decade prior to the 2000’s
